Every summer weekend our historic baseball teams, the Lah-De-Dahs and the Nationals suit up to compete with outside historic clubs from around the Midwest. Stretch out on a grassy hillside and enjoy the game, played by 1867 rules. It’s a wonderful family sporting experience chock-full of thrills, excitement, good music and good food—everything that has made baseball America’s favorite pastime for over a century. Historic Baseball Games are free to members and free with Greenfield Village admission.

Civil War Remembrance Weekend
May 28-30, 2011 (Open Saturday until 9pm)
Greenfield Village’s most treasured signature event. Memorial Day weekend is filled with high emotions and vivid experiences as we honor veterans who fought and died to preserve our nation’s freedom. More than 450 military re-enactors create an authentic Civil War encampment for an observance filled with parades, artillery demonstrations and heartfelt 19th-century music. Kick off summer with a gathering that is reverent, reflective and triumphant. This event is free with Greenfield Village admission.

Motor Muster

Motor Muster
June 18-19, 2011 (Open Saturday until 9pm)

Cruise down memory lane all weekend and view a fantastic exhibition of more than 700 cars, bicycles, motorcycles, trucks and other vehicles from the 1930s to the 1970s. Step back to the glorious era of American muscle cars and enjoy demonstrations, pass-in-review parades, expert historic insights, hands-on activities, food, music and more. 19th Annual Salute to America
June 30-July 3, 2011 (6-10pm)

Walnut Grove historic district is transformed into a sea of red, white and blue as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of music under the stars. Come early and bring a picnic. Or dine on midsummer favorites from The Henry Ford’s award-winning chefs. An entire Fourth of July program of musical Americana, topped off with Tchaikovsky’s awe-inspiring 1812 Overture and a lavish fireworks finale. Take in the spectacle as the streets and grounds of Greenfield Village are filled with sights, sounds, and smells of hundreds of authentic vehicles from the 1890s through 1932. Enjoy a self-guided tour through this fabulous exposition and talk to proud owners about their treasured vehicles. Watch drivers engage in games of skill, see a Model T assembled in just minutes, attend fascinating lectures and sit back and enjoy our experts sharing “car talks” while vintage vehicles pass by.

In this 58th year of the Old Car Festival, we celebrate a number of important anniversaries and milestones for the American automobile industry. Among the most important is the 100th anniversary of Henry Ford’s Model T. This truly universal car put the Ford Motor Company on the map and America on wheels. You’ll be treated to an amazing array of Model T Fords and hundreds of other unique and historically significant vehicles of America’s motoring past. Old Car Festival is free to members and free with Greenfield Village admission.

Hallowe’en Nights in Greenfield Village

Step back in time to a turn-of-the-20th century Hallowe’en. Follow an endless path of hand-carved jack-o-lanterns and meet colorful characters along the way. Feel the whoosh as the headless horseman rides by, banter with a clever witch, and make stops at several treat stations spread throughout Greenfield Village. It’s frightfully fun for the whole family! Members of The Henry Ford receive discount admission and an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets in advance.
